If not for the publicity from the Food Network, Guy Fieri et al, La Camaronera would be a place the locals would happily keep their little secret. Now it’s sought after by tourists and locals alike often resulting in a line to get in, but worth the time. Everyone comes for the Pan con Minuta (snapper sandwich), but there are more options from shrimp tacos to a whole fish or stone crab claws from the market. I don’t think it’s possible to pick a favorite desert (flan, tres leche, key lime pie, or coconut crème pie) so I’ll just have to keep going back. It’s cash only and BYOB so grab a beer or wine at the deli next door if you’d like.
Got an office cat? Or a dog who’s too cute for words whether lying around the house or riding a skateboard? Send me your pics and I’ll feature them here in this space on Fridays, every day if we get enough.

If you were looking for something to do this weekend, the Miami International Boat Show is a nice way to spend a day. It’s happening at the Miami Marine Stadium this year. Free shuttle boats are running from The Icon, or Bayfront Park where you can also visit Strictly Sail.
Also happening this weekend is the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. Buy combo tickets online and go to both!
Fox in a Box! I saw this while walking by the other day, had to look it up to see what it’s about.
Apparently it’s a room escape adventure game. Could be fun. I love seeing new things to do downtown. Choose from several scenario’s… bank robbery, prison break, Zombies! Wonder if it’s mostly corporate team building exercises. Or something fun to do with friends while waiting for the new season of Archer to start.
